03/05/2025 UPDATE : We are excited to announce that we have re-opened, with our first session having taken place on Friday the 23rd of May.

Come and join us on one of Friday or Sunday sessions in the newly revamped Sobell Centre. These sessions can be found on the website/app as "Social Badminton" – please look for this particular name when booking.

The Sobell Badminton Club is one of North London’s best-known badminton clubs and is part of Sobell Leisure Centre. The club is very friendly and welcomes players of every ability. If you are interested in playing, feel free to come along to one of our club sessions. Sessions are run by Mark (07950491106 – text messages only).

Club sessions are held at the Sobell Leisure Centre on Hornsey Road, London N7 7NY , which is in close proximity to Finsbury Park, Holloway Underground Station, and the A1 - Holloway Road.

Club sessions are run on a place-reservation basis, with entrance fees of £7.00 for members and £10.75 for non-members (payable via the "Better" app or website). Pre-booking is necessary to secure your space.

Mark offers new rackets, shuttles, and court trainers for sale. He also specialises in offering a high-quality racket-stringing service – please text him on the above number for more details.

2. The London Badminton Academy

The London Badminton Academy is a club for the development of players of all standards. The club has a number of qualified and experienced coaches and trainers to help players improve their skills. All players are welcome.

Club session and times

Club sessions are held at the Parliament Hill School, Highgate Road, London NW5 1RL (near Parliament Hill and Kentish Town) on Wednesday and Saturday as follows:

First 30 minutes for warm up and practice, then playing games at all levels with optional training available.

Adults and juniors: Warm up, coaching and practice for the first 60 minutes, followed by games; optional training is also available.

Please bring along your own racket, comfortable sportswear, and shoes with non-marking soles (e.g., badminton or squash shoes as required for the school hall).
